INDIANAPOLIS—The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its postseason awards Thursday, with three Greyhounds appearing on the annual list.
MaKenna Barnhart,
Elizabeth Eads and
Alex Equihua all earned All-GLVC Second Team accolades, as selected by the league's coaches.
Â
The trio has combined to contribute all over the court for the Hounds this season. Junior libero
MaKenna Barnhart earned her laurels from the back row, ranking fourth in the GLVC in both total digs and digs per set.
Â
Elizabeth Eads, a junior middle, has made her presence felt both offensively and defensively. The hometown product ranks second on the team in attack percentage as well as second in total blocks. Meanwhile, junior setter
Alex Equihua's current assist total of 1,133 is good for seventh in Division II, sitting just outside the program's single-season top 15.
Â
Additionally, the league recognized its GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award individual nominees—one from each of the 15 member institutions. Sophomore middle
Hannah Sabotin garnered the nod for UIndy through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The individuals are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2021-22 academic year
