EVANSVILLE, IN - On a beautiful Saturday morning, the UIndy men's and women's cross country faced the region's top competition at the NCAA DII Midwest Regional in Evansville, Ind. Both the men's 10K- and the women's 6K-race took place at Angel Mounds State Memorial, hosted by the University of Southern Indiana. Similar to the
GLVC Championships, both squads shared a finish with the men's and women's team both finishing 14th of the 30 teams in the region.
On the men's side,
Ben Nagel and
AJ Goecker crossed the line in 72nd and 74th, respectively
- just two seconds from each other. They were followed by
Will Reid (33:04.4) in 95th place.
Blake Ellis was next to cross the line for the Hounds with a 100th-place finish in 33:08.2. To round out the top five for the Hounds was
Andrew Bixler in 33:21.3.
Noah Kurtz and
Jordan Parkinson rounded out the seven Hounds at the regional in 119th and 162nd, respectively.
On the women's side,
Claire Eaton continued her impressive season with yet another quality day crossing the line in 33rd at 21:47.9. Like we have seen all season,
Melissa Spencer was the next Hound to cross the line with a 22:22.8 time to earn her a 63rd-place finish.
Eline Pinter, who crossed at 22:42.2, was next in 79th.
Hannah Stein and
Hanna Stamm rounded out the top five finishes for the Hounds, with Stein in 96th and Stamm in 111th.
Mariah Judy crossed in 141th with a time of 23:58.5, while
Emma Treibic finished in 24:45.7.
