INDIANAPOLIS - After taking a draw with Illinois Springfield two days prior, the No. 2 UIndy men's soccer team (4-0-1, 4-0-1 GLVC) hosted a Sunday afternoon matchup against the visiting Quincy Hawks (3-3, 3-3). The contest at Key Stadium was a thriller, Cole Rainwater nailing his second game-winner at the 71' mark to bring the Greyhounds to a 2-1 victory at Key Stadium.
INS & OUTS
The Hawks' pressured the Hounds within the first seconds of the contest, pouncing on every opportunity to disrupt UIndy's ball movement. This boded well for them, as they were able to knock in a shot within the game's first minute of action. Outside of the small hiccup, the Greyhounds match Quincy's intensity in the first half, running toe-to-toe in almost every statistical category. Both teams totaled six shots, three corner kicks and one save each. Jack Berger came off the bench and let the ball fly in his minutes, leading the team in shots within the first half including one of them being on goal.
Coming out of the half, the Hounds almost looked like a new team entering the game, pushing the Hawks past their limits on both ends of the field. Constantly finding excellent looks, UIndy pounded six shots on goal in their 10 attempts in the second half alone. The pressure came from all sides, back line players Makel Rasheed and Mathias Skjeseth producing a shot each after stealing the ball from Hawk student-athletes. The aggression paid off early for the Greyhounds, Alejandro Steinwascher picking up his fourth score of the season at the 47' mark. Dylan Bollard was able to find Steinwascher off a steal of his out, the forward garnering his first assist of the season. Rainwater's game-winner came way from a 55-yard punt from Rasheed, the Rockville, Md. native placed a perfect ball to the forward to lead to Rainwater's third goal of the season. The Hawks were only limited to four shots (one on goal), along with double-digit fouls (12) to be held for the Hounds' fourth win in the season's first five games.

- Rainwater's game-winning goal is his second of the young season, the first coming in the 2-1 win against Southern Indiana.
- Both assists for the Greyhounds' are the first career points for both Rasheed and Bollard.
- Sunday marks the third-straight time the Greyhounds followed a draw with a win, dating back to 2-1 win at Lewis after tying McKendree 0-0 in the 2018 season.
