INDIANAPOLIS – With the 2021 season right around the corner, the University of Indianapolis volleyball team was selected third in the east division of the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball preseason poll.
The GLVC will be separated into three divisions for the 2021 campaign: Central, East, and West. The 2021 preseason poll comprises each division's predicted order of finish from the league's 15 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own team.
The Hounds return a trio of All-GLVC honorees in defensive specialist
MaKenna Barnhart, middle blocker
Elizabeth Eads and setter
Alex Equihua. All three were named to the All-GLVC second team following the 2021 spring season.
Head Coach
Jason Reed enters his 9th season at the helm of the Greyhounds. Reed currently sits at 137 career wins at UIndy and is on the cusp of 100 GLVC victories, entering the season with 90 wins.
UIndy opens the new campaign next week in Anchorage, Alaska at the Seawolf Invitational hosted by Alaska Anchorage. The Hounds will take on Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska Anchorage on Friday, followed by Central Missouri and Biola on Saturday.
The Hounds open GLVC play at home on Thursday, Sept. 16 hosting Truman.
