INDIANAPOLIS –
Malik Tabet and the Greyhound Tennis team are hungry for more. Fresh off the more successful season in UIndy Tennis History. The 2021 National Runner-Up Greyhounds are looking to kick off the 2021-22 season this weekend as they host the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Individual Midwest Regionals. Matches begin on Saturday, Sep 18 and will continue until Monday, Sep 21.
The Greyhounds return the main core of their squad, including ITA tournament one seed,
Anna Novikova, along with ITA Rookie of the Year and 2021 GLVC Freshman of the Year,
Sofia Sharonova. While also welcoming transfers,
Bella Dunlap and
Maissane Aik, along with Freshman Lea Cadaveric. The Greyhounds hold the one seed in both singles brackets and the doubles bracket.
"We are very happy with the players that we brought it," noted Head Coach,
Malik Tabet. "We're excited to see what is going to unfold this season."
The tournament will begin with matches beginning at 9 a.m. ET.
