NEW ORLEANS– In the first edition of the 2022 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor DII Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index, the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds find themselves at No. 10 in the country. This comes after last year's finish at No. 7 in this same poll. For the Midwest Region the team arrives at No. 4, just under Grand Valley State, Lewis and Findlay.

The Hounds squad is led by a plethora of powerhouse athletes with the French-phenom Berenice Cleyet-Merle, bringing in 38 ranking points by herself with her No. 1 ranking in the mile and No. 2 in the 3000 meter. Zoe Pentecost, who has exploded onto the scene this year by raking in three straight 19-meter marks, comes in as the No. 3-ranked thrower for weight so far this season.

Two new Hounds in Ellie Lengerich and Claire Eaton are both contributing nicely to this year's ranking. Freshman Lengerich is coming in as the fourth-ranked high jumper in the country, having set the school record in her first-ever collegiate meet with a jump of 1.75 meters. Eaton, a graduate transfer, sits comfortably in the No. 8 slot for the 5K..

Of note as well is the pole vault squad of Brittney Clark, Lauren Joseph, Megan Young and Sabrina Robison, who all contribute to the ranking score. Clark and Joseph are tied at the top for the Hounds. In the mile, Eline Pinter comes in at No. 19 with a time of 4:58.55, and Emily Sonderman comes in at No. 18 for the 800-meter race.
