KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Indianapolis men's and women's cross country teams traveled up north to Kenosha, Wis., on Saturday morning to compete in the Lucian Rosa Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The women's team collected a seventh-place team finish after scoring 166 points. For the men's team, the Hounds also ended in seventh place with 190 points.
Â
A key headline from Saturday included the new personal records (PR) set by a handful of Greyhound athletes. Out of the top seven finishers for the women (only including those who have competed in previous 6K events), four of them hit a new best time. For the men (including only those who have raced in previous 8K events), three of the top seven also ran a new fastest time today.

WOMEN'S BREAKDOWN
For the second meet in a row,
Melissa Spencer fronted the pack for the Greyhounds. The Glen Carbon, Ill., native finished today in seventh place with a finishing time of 21:53.43, which marks her new UIndy PR time in a 6K event.
Â
Following behind Spencer,
Hanna Stamm logged a 23rd-place finish at 22:39.4, which was also a new PR time for her.
Mariah Davis also bested her 6K PR with a 23:03.3 finishing time for 35th.
Â
In 55th place at 23:42.9,
Hannah Wells was the fourth consecutive Hound with a brand new 6K personal best. Rounding out the top seven on the team,
Mariah Judy crossed in 61st place (23:49.3),
Brianna Lawson ended in 68th (24:01.9), and
Kaylin Casner notched 89th (24:53.1).
Â

Similar to Spencer on the women's side, it was
AJ Goecker on the men's side guiding the Hounds at the front of the pack for a second consecutive meet. The senior from Seymour, Ind., clocked in at 25:50.9 to end in 18th place.
Â
Behind Goecker, a trio of Greyhound competitors landed in the top 50 of a field that saw 128 racers finish.
Nyc Sigmon earned 38th (26:26.4),
Alexandre Rio bested his 8K PR time and corralled 41st (26:30.8), and
Andrew Bixler notched 45th (26:36.4).
