INDIANAPOLIS – Fresh off wrapping up a 9-1 regular season and a
Great Lakes Valley Conference title, the UIndy football team was one of just 28 schools to earn a spot in the 2022 NCAA Division II Championship, as announced Sunday evening. The Greyhounds will be making their seventh playoff appearance since 2012 and first since 2019.

UIndy's reward is an eight-hour bus ride to Pittsburg, Kan., to face the third-seeded and undefeated Pittsburg State Gorillas. The first-round matchup is set for Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. local..

The NCAA announced the entire '22 postseason field Sunday evening on
NCAA.com. The top seed in SR3 (and corresponding first-round bye) went to the undefeated champions of the GLIAC, Grand Valley State (11-0). The Lakers await the winner of No. 4-seed Ouachita Baptist and Northwest Missouri State, while the UIndy/PSU winner will take on the survivor of the two-seed Ferris State/Davenport matchup.

UIndy last qualified for the postseason in 2019, falling in the first round at Central Missouri. The Hounds' last playoff win came at home in 2018 versus Fort Hays State.
