INDIANAPOLIS – Riding a 2-2 overall record so far this season, the UIndy women's basketball team has its sights set on GLVC action following the Thanksgiving holiday. The Hounds will travel to Quincy on Saturday and battle the Hawks beginning at 2 p.m. and then will cap the road trip off at Truman on Monday with a conference clash set for 6:15 p.m.
Â
Last week, the Hounds won a pair of non-conference games against Hillsdale and Northwood. UIndy took down the Chargers by a final of 68-53 on Wednesday at Nicoson Hall and then hit the road and defeated Northwood by a 74-71 final. These marked the first home and road wins for
Marc Mitchell as head coach of the UIndy women's basketball program.
Â
So far this year, senior forward
Sadie Hill leads the Hounds in scoring at 13 points per game alongside a GLVC-best 93.3 percent shooting mark from the free throw line (14-15).
Elana Wells has also garnered a double-digit scoring average (10.5 PPG) while guiding the team at four assists per game and 2.3 steals per game.
Â
UIndy leads the all-time series against Quincy by a mark of 30-23. The Hounds also hold a 10-8 series advantage over Truman. The Greyhounds beat both teams last season in their last meeting.
