ELSAH, Ill. – Five UIndy cross country runners earned All-GLVC honors on Saturday at the annual league championships, including four on the women's side and one in the men's race.
Â
McKendree University served as this year's host, with the event taking place at the Principia College Cross Country Course. The top-20 individual men's finishers and the top-20 individual women's finishers earn All-GLVC distinction. The 2022 postseason race marked the 44th annual men's 8k run and the 39th annual women's 6k race.
Â
Melissa Spencer led the women to a third-place finish, the team's best performance since 2019. The Glen Carbon, Ill., product finished second as an individual with a time of 22:13.97, earning the third all-league medal of her UIndy career.
Â
The Greyhounds finished with 64 points, just two tallies short of Southwest Baptist in second.
"This was on par for what we were expecting," said head coach Brad Robinson. "We wanted to put ourselves in contention for the team title, and everyone gave it their all. I'm really proud of them of how disciplined they were in these weather conditions."
Â
Sophomore
Hannah Wells snuck in the top 10, recording a personal-best 23:01.38 in the 6k race.

Â
Blake Ellis (35) and
Nico Barrett (39) finished just inside the top 40 for UIndy, finishing within 12 seconds of one another. Meanwhile,
Nyc Sigmon and
