Box Score INDIANAPOLIS - Just 25 minutes north of the UIndy campus, the No. 2-ranked UIndy women's team traveled to take on the Butler Bulldogs, resulting in a 5-1 victory. The match marks the Greyhounds' sixth straight win over their crosstown rivals, putting the series at 6-4 in UIndy's favor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In doubles it was Hound City, with the No. 1 pairing of Ariana Amaning and
Anna Novikova storming to a 6-1 win to set the pace.
Maissane Aik and
Maria Solnyshkina iced the double's point with a 6-3 victory.
Singles was more of the same with the No. 14-ranked Novikova waltzing to a straight set win 6-4, 6-4. The Bulldogs didn't go down without a fight, with Delaney Schurhamer taking down
Isabella Dunlap in a 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 tiebreak match.
The next three matches wrapped up in straight sets, all in favor of the Greyhounds. Aik, after a tough 7-6 win in the first set, finished strong in set two, 6-2. Amaning kept that ball rolling with a 6-3, 6-4 victory, and finally to seal the deal,
Kristina Lagoda dominated in a 6-2, 6-1 win.
