HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles set the pace of the day, as the No. 1 paring of
Anna Novikova and
Arina Amaning made short work of their opponents in a 6-2 win. Following that up with an identical 6-2 win was
Isabella Dunlap and
Sofia Sharonova to ice the doubles point.
Hounds were lights out from there in singles as
Lea Cakarevic kept her quality weekend going into Monday where she captured a straight sets victory 6-0, 6-3. Amaning kept her foot on the gas as well, winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
The final match came down to Novikova in No. 1 singles. She dominated set one with a 6-2 win, and despite the efforts of the UWA's Alumenda Sanz, Novikova walked away victorious in set two 7-5, securing the sweep for the Hounds.
