JOLIET, Ill.–Spread across three meets, eight members of the UIndy track & field team battled competition in search of new NCAA provisional marks, all in hopes of finding a spot at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships starting on May 26.
OAKLAND LAST CHANCE
A trio of pole vaulters were sent to Rochester, Mich., for the Oakland Last Chance meet on Thursday, May 12.
Brittney Clark led the way, finishing in fourth in a star-studded field. Clearing the four-meter mark for the second straight week, she hit a mark of 4.04 meters and currently sits at 10th in the country.
Sabrina Robison joined Clark at Oakland, landing herself in sixth place with a massive PR. She hit 3.97 meters and launches her up the rankings to 22nd.
Cade Priddy was the last of the vaulters to venture north. His PR mark of 4.80 meters was good for sixth place.
CARIUS / GREGORY INVITATIONAL
The mid-distance duo of
Harnoor Dosanjh and
Emily Sonderman were the two to travel to Naperville, Ill,. on the campus of North Central College. Sonderman had a quality day to end her season, etching a PR in the 400 along with second place. Dosanjh ran a time of 1:55.29 in the 800.
ST. FRANCIS FIGHTING CHANCE MEET
It was a trio of second-place finishes for
Ben Nagel,
Eline Pinter and
Melissa Spencer. Nagel and Pinter both found themselves in the 1500. After the day Nagel sits at 34th in the country in the 1500 while Pinter sits at 48th.
Melissa Spencer continued to show out in the 3000 steeplechase, placing second with a time of 10:48.45. She sits at 28th in the country for the steeple.
UP NEXT
The final meet of the year is the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, in which a select few Hounds will get the opportunity to compete at.
