Hounds Featured Heavily in NFCA Academic Awards Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its annual postseason academic awards Monday. A total of 17 Greyhounds appeared among the 2021-22 Easton / NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list (GPA of 3.5 or higher), while UIndy ranked in the top 15 in all of Division II in team GPA.

Piper Belden, Kaitlyn Brown, Mary Beth Burton, Jocelyn Calvin, Jayden Casebolt, Lucy Garrett, Amy Kaniewski, Grace Mosele, Lauren Mosele, Megan Nichols, Sydnee Perry, Sam Peters, Dominique Proctor, Lexy Rees, Emma Rutan, Maddy Stout and Tara Williams all made the grade. They helped contribute to a 3.67 team grade point average in 2021-22, good for the 14th-best GPA in DII.

Overall, 1,646 Division II student-athletes garnered recognition as NFCA Scholar-Athletes. Team GPAs and scholar-athletes are submitted by member head coaches. Click the links above for the complete lists.
