INDIANAPOLIS—The University of Indianapolis announced Friday the resignation of Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Young. Young steps down after spending the last two years as the leader of UIndy Athletics.
The Greyhounds captured back-to-back GLVC All-Sports Trophies in Young's two years at the helm. After guiding the department through the unique challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Young saw UIndy secure a No. 3 finish in the prestigious LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings in 2021-22, good for its highest-ever finish.
Additionally, UIndy's 700-plus student-athletes combined for 3.35 cumulative grade point average in the last two years combined.
A 1999 graduate of UIndy, Young served in a variety of capacities at the university prior to assuming the role of Vice President, including assistant baseball coach, adjunct instructor, coordinator of gameday operations, and director of compliance.
