Greyhounds Remain on the Road with Trip to ODU

WEEK 4
at Ohio Dominican Panthers (2-1)
Saturday | September 24 | 1 p.m. ET

The 16th-ranked UIndy football team hits the road once again, facing off against a G-MAC opponent for the second straight week. The Greyhounds will tangle with the Panthers of Ohio Dominican University this Saturday in a 1 p.m. kick. ODU is currently 2-1 on the season, with its lone loss coming at Tiffin University in week 2, the very place UIndy earned a 27-20 comeback win last weekend.

UIndy and Ohio Dominican have met just three times on the gridiron. The Hounds won the inaugural meeting, 31-17, in Indianapolis back in 2010, but the Panthers have come out on top in the previous two matchups. A 38-26 Panther win in 2011 finale may well have denied UIndy a playoff berth, while last season ODU escaped Key Stadium with a 19-16 victory in double overtime. In the more-recent meeting, the Greyhounds drove 99 yards to tie the game with just 1:22 left in regulation, but later it was a 29-yard field goal by ODU that provided the only overtime points of the contest.

But the main storyline this week remains running back Toriano Clinton. The All-American and Harlon Hill candidate enters the weekend just 41 yards shy of breaking the school's career rushing record. The current mark of 3,809 was set by Klay Fietcher in 2013, which itself broke a record that had stood for 37 years.
