INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy outdoor track & field teams returned to action on Thursday and Friday and competed at the Knight Open hosted on the campus of Marian University. Between both programs, the Greyhounds notched 11 top finishes in the Circle City.

WOMEN'S RECAP
In total, the women's team grabbed seven top marks individually and a relay victory during the two-day event. The top finishes were split evenly as four came in the field while the others came on the track.

Starting in the field,
Zoe Pentecost,
Sabrina Robison, and
Ellie Lengerich, all of whom made it to indoor nationals this year, rolled their strong indoor momentum into the outdoor season by winning their respective event. Pentecost corralled the top throw in the shot put at 13.02 meters while Robison won the pole vault by clearing 3.80 meters, barley edging out her teammate
Brittney Clark (who also made indoor nationals this year). Lengerich tossed a winning throw and a new personal record of 31.06 meters in the javelin while
Emily Bonser won the hammer throw and also hit a PR of at 49.95 meters.

On the track, the 200-meter dash saw
Hallie Montgomery race her way to the top time at 25.13 while
Cloey Simon won the 400-meter hurdles (1:10.49) after defeating her teammate
Olivia Brimmage who ended in second.
Emily Sonderman grabbed the top time in the 800-meter run (2:19.91) while the women's 4x400-meter relay won the event for the Hounds (4:08.97).

Over on the men's side, the Hounds grabbed three top marks through Thursday and Friday of competition, two of which were individual and one of which was a relay.

On the track,
Tom Saint-Juvin brought home the victory in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.47 while the men's 4x400-meter relay team won the event at 3:24.51. In the field,
Owen Butler tossed a winning mark in the javelin at 44.77 meters.

The Hounds will split forces next weekend as some of the team will head to Fort Wayne, Ind., for action at the Warrior Open while others will travel down to Cleveland, Tenn., for competition at the Flames Invitational.
