INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy women's basketball head coach
Marc Mitchell has announced that
David Levy will be a new addition to his coaching staff as an assistant coach.
"David comes highly recommended," said head coach Mitchell. "He is extremely knowledgeable and energetic. He will be working with our forwards and post players while also assisting in running our camps and overseeing our recruiting efforts."
Levy comes to the Circle City after serving the past two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Dominican University in River Forest, Ill. While with the Stars, he assisted all aspects of the women's basketball program which included recruiting prospective student-athletes, practice planning, on-court and individual player development, scouting opponents and game planning, and non-conference game scheduling. Along with this, he was also the camp basketball head coach for the WNBA Chicago Sky Basketball Academy where he planned, led, and implemented the program for athletes.
"I am so appreciative of coach Mitchell for this opportunity to join his staff," said Levy. " In just one season, coach Mitchell has already transformed the program into one of the best in the conference. I know we are going to accomplish even more with him this upcoming season and I cannot wait to be a part of it."
During the 2019-20 season, Levy served as a graduate assistant coach for the Northwestern University women's basketball program under head coach Joe McKeown. He assisted McKeown in all recruitment of prospective student-athletes while helping with various fundraising, marketing, administrative, and promotional efforts. Following this, he tallied a one-year stint as an assistant coach with the women's basketball program at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.V.
"Assistant coach
Ashley Yu and I had the opportunity to work together at Dominican University during the 2021-22 season," mentioned Levy. "She's an outstanding coach that thrives at building relationships and developing players. I became a better coach by working with her in the past and expect the same to happen here at UIndy."
