Track and Field Competes At Butler Invite

INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's and women's track and field team competed at the Butler Invitational on Saturday. The meet took place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and hosted 10 teams. The teams included IUPUI, SIU Edwardsville, Vincennes, Butler, Valparaiso, St. Norbert, Western Michigan, Taylor, and Wright State.
 
During the meet, six Greyhounds became eligible to compete at the NCAA DII Indoor Championships. To do this, each Hound had to pass the provisional requirements set by the NCAA.
 
WOMEN'S RECAP
Zoe Pentecost took first in the weight throw after throwing for 19.45 meters.
 
Ellie Lengerich competed in the high jump. Finishing in first place, Lengerich passed the provisional for the NCAA Championships with 1.68 meters.
 
Sabrina Robison was another Greyhound who qualified for the Championships. Robinson competed in the pole vault and reached 3.82 meters, earning her second place.
 
On the track, Emily Sonderman took third in the 400m. After clocking a time of 58.74 seconds, Sonderman also qualified for the Championships.

MEN'S RECAP
Ndubisi Eze finished on top in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 8.25. Kayden Edwards competed in the shot put. The freshman reached 15.63 meters and took the top spot.

Alex Meyer took first in the high jump (2.01 meters) and second in the long jump (7.10 meters). Meyer passed the distance required for both events to compete at the NCAA Championships
 
Treyton Arnold is another Greyhound who took home first and qualified for the Championships in his event. Arnold participated in the pole vault and reached a high of 4.74 meters.
 
In the weight throw, Dylan Mayhew reached 17.63 meters. Mayhew is also now eligible to compete at the Championships.

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will return to the Indiana State Fairgrounds next weekend to compete in the IUPUI Invitational. This will be a two-day meet taking place on Friday, Jan. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 27.
