LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The UIndy men's and women's track and field teams took on a competitive field at the Jim Vargo Invitational on Friday. Host by Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. The meet included 21 teams from all NCAA divisions, the NAIA, and the NJCAA. This included fellow GLVC member Illinois-Springfield.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Hadley Fisher was the sole Greyhound to win at the invite. Fisher competed in the 5000m and clocked a time of 17:11.82.
Also on the track,
Ailliyah Reese finished second in the 100m hurdles. In her outdoor meet this season, Reese Clocked 14.77 seconds.
Lindsey Wormuth took fifth in the event. Wormuth clocked a time of 14.95 seconds.
In the 4x440m UIndy "A" claimed the fourth spot. The team comprised of
Cloey Simon,
Ellie Lengerich,
Trinity Gleitz, and
Emily Sonderman, clocked 4:01.24.
All-American pole vaulter
Sabrina Robison took second in the event. Robison cleared 3.76m.
Mackenzie VanBibber was not far behind her teammate. VanBibber cleared 3.61m and finished tied for third place.
Emily Bonser and
Zoe Pentecost each won an event while competing in throwing events. Bonser claimed first place in the shot put with 12.36m. In the discus, Pentecost marked 43.35m earning her a first-place finish.
There were multiple other top-five finishes for the Greyhound throwers. In the hammer, Pentecost placed second (55.87m) with
MaKenna Maschino (46.68m) and Bonser (45.69m) followed in fourth and fifth place respectively. Also, in the shot put,
Faith Hensel finished fifth after reaching 11.61m. Finally, in the discus
Macie Swinehart (3rd, 39.93m),
Amanda Noel (4th, 39.47m), and Bonser (5th, 39.08m) rounded out the top-five in the event.

MEN'S RECAP
In their first appearance this outdoor season, the UIndy relay teams had a successful day. Two UIndy relay teams competed in the 4x400m with UIndy "A" finishing second and UIndy "B" taking sixth. Clocking 3:24.30, UIndy "A" included
Evan Stonitsch,
Jalen Larkey, Luke Lacy, and
Tom Saint-Juvin. UIndy "B" was comprised of Jaycee Willburn,
Devon Whitaker,
Harnoor Dosanjh, and
Felix Rivet, finishing in 3:35.94
In the field,
Treyton Arnold claimed second in the pole vault after clearing 4.56m. In the long jump, Sammy Sommers also finished second after reaching 6.92m. Freshman
Tyje Elias created a new season high in the triple jump with 12.75m and took the fourth spot. Finally,
Dylan Mayhew finished in the top five in two events. Mayhew was second in the hammer throw (52.14m) and fourth in the shot put (15.92m).
On the track,
Ndubisi Eze had the high Greyhound finish of the day. Eze took second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.95 seconds.
Brandon Wheat competed in the 200m dash and finished fifth after clocking 16.22 seconds.
