NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded three members the of the UIndy men's and women's track & field teams All-America honors for the outdoor season.
Zoe Pentecost (hammer throw) and
Sabrina Robison (pole vault) were named to the first team while
Alex Meyer was named to the second team.
Pentecost won the hammer throw at the
NCAA DII National Championships on May 23. The junior won the indoor version of this event (weight throw) at the 2024 Indoor Championships. On her third throw, Pentecost hit a mark of 61.39m. This ended up being her winning throw and finished 2.69m ahead of the second-place finisher. This also earned the Westfield, Ind. native her fourth All-American nod.
Robison finished fifth at nationals after clearing 4.10m. This was her second top-eight finish this season, placing third at the indoor championships.
Meyer competed in his first national championship last week finishing ninth in the long jump. On his first jump, the freshman reached 7.50m and advanced to the finals. The finals included the top nine student-athletes after three jumps. Meyer completed the competition with 7.50m.
