INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Indianapolis announced Cam Estes as Head Coach of the newly-formed women's bowling program, set to begin NCAA competition in the fall.

Estes is a familiar face around campus, as he served as a volunteer assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the UIndy Bowling Club during the 2022-23 academic year. He built the initial roster in two months, coaching the women's team that finished ninth at the Collegiate Club Nationals.

"I would like to thank Dr. Gines and Mr. Shaheen for the opportunity to lead the new women's bowling program and become part of the Greyhound Pack," said Estes.

"Cam builds programs with impact, meaningful community engagement, and competitive success from the ground up, and I have great faith in his leadership as our inaugural Head Women's Bowling Coach," added Interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Scott Gines.

A USBC Bronze certified coach, Estes is known for building strong interpersonal connections and fostering meaningful relationships. Since 2021, Estes has worked as the Program Director and Head Coach for Perry Meridian High School Bowling Club, rebuilding the program while organizing and managing the budget and scheduling practices and matches. Estes and staff quickly put Perry Meridian on the map in the state of Indiana, leading the boys team to semi-state in 2024 and sectional title in 2023.

Estes also served as an Assistant Conference Coordinator for Indy South Bowling since 2023, as well as a Youth Coaching Coordinator for Expo Bowl since 2019. At Expo, Estes recruits volunteers to educate and get certified as USBC youth coaches, confirms training and background checks, and coaches bowlers ranging in age from 5-18 years old. 

"As a team, the young ladies who bowl for UIndy will be dedicated in the classroom, competitive on the lanes, and have a heart for giving back to our community," continued Estes.

Prior to working in IT with Integrity One Technologies and AAR Corp., Estes served as the owner/general manager/coach for Indianapolis Inferno Tier 3 Junior Hockey from 2008-12. Estes built the program, recruiting players, building and executing a budget, coordinated travel, and relocated from Danville, Ill.
