BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The UIndy women's bowling team wrapped up their season at the GLVC Women's Bowling Championship Tournament, following tight battles with No. 8 Maryville, and No. 27 Central Missouri.
Taylor Stace led the Greyhounds in total pinfall, capturing 369 pins in two Traditional Games, while Cheyenne Beechboard was next with a 339 grand total.
INS AND OUTS
The eighth-seeded Hounds began the tournament against the top-seeded Saints, first competing in a Traditional match. UIndy posted a total of 843, with Stace and Emily Heldman both knocking 190 pins apiece. The Saints ultimately gained the first leg of the match with their 923 total, where Brooke Pabst and Megan Brunner each reached the 220 mark.
In five-game Baker Format, UIndy garnered a 783 grand total, with a high of 189 in game three. The Hounds ultimately fell short to the Saints' 1058, where they crossed the 200+ threshold in three of the five games.
UIndy then met the draw's #4 seed, Central Missouri, in the consolation bracket. In the opening Traditional Matchup, Stace and Beechboard combined for 364 of UIndy total pinfall of 771. The Mules gathered a total of 959, thanks to Julia Speich and Sydney Lee both eclipsing 200+ mark, stealing the first leg.
Facing elimination, the Hounds rallied in Baker competition, compiling a 933 grand total to the Mules' 887. UIndy found their groove in game four, achieving a total of 262 on their way to sealing the second leg and forcing a decisive Baker best-of-seven match.
UIndy and Central Missouri traded blows in the final round, with the Mules taking game one 210-191, and the Hounds earning a hard-fought 186-175 win in the second game. The Mules then captured games three and four by a combined 37 pins. UIndy clawed back in the fifth game, downing the Mules 178-157. Central Missouri crossed the finish line in game six, downing UIndy 216-181.
They conclude their season with 20 head-to-head wins, with a high grand total of 8,432 in the Western Shootout.
