Women's Bowling Mac Wissel, Sports Information Graduate Assistant

Hounds Place 28th at ISBPA Kegel Classic

ADDISYN, Ill. – In their first event of the new year, the UIndy women's bowling team competed in the ISBPA Kegal Classic, finishing 28th in the field of 55 teams. 

The Greyhounds knocked down 7,242 total pins over the two-day event. Alyssa Cash led the Hounds individually, with a 953 total. 

"I thought we had a great showing in a competitive field of 55 teams." UIndy head coach Cam Estes said after the event. "Ready to build off this solid start to the semester, and we're up for the challenge of finishing a tough remaining schedule." 

The opening day of competition began with five traditional games, where UIndy totaled 4,426 pins. The Hounds appeared in top form in the fourth game, with a high of 986 pins. Cash had a team-high 246 in the fourth game, while Cheyenne Beechboard, Taylor Stace, and Madisyn Shambry all broke the 190+ threshold. 

Cash held the highest total and average on Saturday, holding an average of 191.4 for a 953 total. Stace was not far behind, with a 189.6 average and 948 total. 

The final day of competition hosted 16 Baker Games, where UIndy collected 2,816 pins. The Hounds topped the 200+ mark in three games, with a high of 229 in the seventh game. 

The Hounds head to Louisville, Ky., to compete in the Lynne Jordan Memorial Tournament beginning Saturday, Jan 24.
