GAME 13
vs.
 21 Minnesota State Mavericks (9-3)
NCAA DII Playoffs, Second Round
Saturday // November 29 // 2 p.m.

UIndy football's historic season continues this weekend when it hosts No. 21 Minnesota State in a second-round playoff matchup. The Greyhounds are coming off an impressive first-round win over GLVC-rival Truman, 57-14, while MSU in fresh off a 37-14 road victory at 12th-ranked Findlay.

Separated by approximately 625 highway miles, Saturday's opponents have never faced each other. In fact, UIndy has yet to face any Northern Sun team in football. Despite the lack of history on the field, the two have a coaching connection. MSU defensive coordinator Todd Taylor had an early stop in his coaching career in the Circle City, spending the 2015 season on the UIndy staff working with the defensive backs. Current UIndy head coach Chris Keevers was also a Greyhound defensive assistant that season, serving as the team's DC and linebackers coach.

With their win at Findlay last weekend, the Mavericks were the only road team to earn a first-round win in Super Region 3 bracket. Top-seeded Ferris State disposed of visiting Northwood, 65-14, while No. 4-seed Ashland sent Minnesota Duluth home in a 32-7 final.

SR3 notes...
· All four of the region's first-round games were decided by at least three touchdowns, with the average margin of victory coming out to 35.5 points.
· Of the four remaining SR3 squads, only UIndy did not make a second-round appearance in 2024.
· All four remaining teams hail from a different conference.
