The University of Indianapolis volleyball team is returning to the NCAA Midwest Regional tournament for the first time since 2019 on Thursday.
The Greyhounds earned the No. 8 seed and will face a familiar foe after drawing the host and top-seeded Missouri-St. Louis in the first round of the tournament. The two squads have met twice this season, with UMSL coming out on top in four sets in both matchups.
Thursday marks the 40th match-up between the Hounds, with the UMSL leading the series 22-17. The last time the Greyhounds came out on top in the match-up was 10 years ago, when the UIndy swept UMSL in the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center on Sept. 19, 2015. The Tritons extended their win streak, adding two more this season, defeating the Greyhounds 3-1 in the regular season before a 3-1 win in the GLVC Championship Semifinal match.
The last time UIndy advanced to the regional in 2019 the Hounds nearly knocked off second-seeded Hillsdale in five sets. The Hounds hold a 14-10 record in the tournament, claiming Regional titles in 2009 and 2015
Head coach Haley Case's 2025 squad holds a 20-11 record in her first season at the helm. The squad features four All-GLVC selections, including GLVC Freshman of the Year Carly Fonda and AVCA All-Region First Team honoree Paige Parlanti, who both earned a spot on the All-GLVC First Team. Macy Bruton and Maddie Lynch were additionally voted Second Team ALL-GLVC.
