Released earlier this week, UIndy football offensive coordinator
Michael Engle was one of five finalists for Division II Coordinator of the Year, given annually by FootballScoop.
Â
Engle orchestrated one of the nation's most prolific offenses this fall. The Greyhounds ranked second in Division II in both total offense (500.3 ypg) and scoring offense (46.0 ppg). UIndy also ranked in the top 10 in DII in passing offense, third-down conversion percentage and red zone offense. He was a key cog in the Hounds'
GLVCÂ championship and
second-round playoff appearance.
Â
Also the UIndy quarterbacks coach, Engle mentored signal caller
Gavin Sukup to an historic season in 2025. A three-time
GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, Sukup led all Division II QBs in completion percentage and passing efficiency while ranking second in both passing yards and passing TDs. Sukup himself is up for the
Harlon Hill Trophy as the school's first-ever finalist for the prestigious honor.

Presented by Teamworks, the FootballScoop Coach of the Year awards program is the only of its kind to honor coaching across every position on the field, senior support staff roles, and coordinators at the divisional level. Now in its 18th year, the FootballScoop Coach of the Year award winners also stand alone in that winners are chosen by prior winners.
Â
Nominated by fellow coaches, the 2025 finalists are a group of 89 men chosen among a cast of thousands across the 729 football-playing institutions in the NCAA and NAIA. Finalists for off-field awards will be announced later this week.Â
Â
Winners will be announced beginning Monday, Dec. 8, and will be honored in conjunction with the American Football Coaches Association convention beginning Jan. 12 in Charlotte.Â
