LOCKPORT, Ill. – The UIndy women's bowling team wrapped up competition at the Storm Flyer Classic, building momentum with five straight wins to close the weekend on a high note.
 
The team finished 19th overall among 22 teams, while Serenity Jones paced the Greyhounds with a 58th-place individual performance. Emily Heldman was just behind her freshman counterpart in 67th place.
 
Most notably, UIndy competed against six top-25 programs at the tournament, including No. 1 Nebraska and No. 2 Vanderbilt. The Greyhounds battled head-to-head against a pair of GLVC foes, including 10th-ranked Maryville and unranked Quincy, defeating the latter team twice.
 
Ebony Ward joined Jones with the team's best round of 213 against Quincy, while Heldman flirted with 200, as well, before finishing with a 193. Jones posted two 200+ games, rolling a 203 against the top-ranked Huskers.
 
Elizabeth Estes brought her best against Nebraska, recording a team-high 212 during the game.
 
UIndy really shined during the Baker best-of-7 bracket play format, earning three victories in as many chances. After defeating Quincy for the second time on the weekend, the Hounds earned an impressive come-from-behind win over Augustana after dropping the first three rounds. The Greyhounds combined to roll a 213 in game seven to pull off the comeback.
 
The Greyhounds return to Royal Pin Western this weekend for the Hoosier Classic as part of USBC Collegiate Tier 1. Competition is slated for Saturday and Sunday.
