INDIANAPOLIS -
Ellie Lengerich of the UIndy women's track and field team kicked off the 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday. The senior is the first of eight Greyhounds to compete at this year's national meet.

The national meet is being held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds' Fall Creek Pavilion and is a part of the
2025 DII National Championships Festival. Action continues tomorrow with field events starting at noon and running events following at 2:30 p.m.

Lengerich was named All-America after finishing eighth in the competition with 3798 points. With this mark, the senior breaks her own school record she set last year at the Indoor National Championships by eight points.

Lengerich set two new personal bests during the competition; in the 60m hurdles and the shot put. In the hurdles, she ran a 9.09 and reached 11.33m in the shot put. The St. Leon, Ind. native had her best performance in the high jump, clearing 1.68m, placing third in the event.
