Greyhounds Wrap Up Music City Classic, Ward Placed 36th

SMYRNA, Tenn. – Over the weekend, the University of Indianapolis women's bowling team competed in the Music City Classic hosted by No. 3 Vanderbilt University. The Greyhounds placed 29th out of 31 teams. 

DAY ONE
The first day of the tournament hosted Baker match play, where three of the five opponents UIndy faced were ranked. The Hounds went 1-4 in this format, averaging 791.2 total pins per game. They took down GLVC-foe Quincy 708-621 in game four. 

DAY TWO
In traditional gameplay, the Hounds won their first match against Illinois Wesleyan 898-631. Ebony Ward led the charge in the winning effort rolling a 214, while Elizabeth Estes and Serenity Jones respectively scored 179 and 176. 

The Hounds dropped their next four matchups against the field, where opponents averaged 891.3 against UIndy's 761.5. Ward had the highest average in traditional gameplay with a 194.2, and placed 36th individually. 

DAY THREE
The Greyhounds closed out the tournament with a win over Quincy in best-of-seven Baker bracket play, winning in four games with a 159.8 average per game. 

UP NEXT
The Hounds will close out the season at the GLVC Championship in Quincy, IL, with the first day on Friday, March 23.
