Findlay Trip On Deck For UIndy Football

GAME 2
at Findlay Oilers (0-0)
Saturday // September 6
12 p.m. ET // Findlay, OH

An old rivalry is renewed this weekend, as UIndy will battle the University of Findlay Oilers for the first time in 14 years. The two schools clashed 12 times between 1998-2011 as league-mates in the GLIAC. Both schools have since moved on from the conference—UIndy to the GLVC in 2012, Findlay to the G-MAC in 2017—but the history remains. The Greyhounds went 9-3 against the Oilers in those dozen GLIAC games, with current UIndy Head Coach Chris Keevers on staff as an assistant on all 12 occasions. Overall, the Greyhounds own an 11-5 advantage in the all-time series, including wins in the previous seven head-to-head meetings.

Though Saturday marks the season opener for Findlay, UIndy is coming off 45-21 win at crosstown Marian University on Thursday, Aug. 28. In a series dubbed the "Monumental Matchup" after the city's iconic centrally-located landmark, the Hounds used a big second quarter to pull away, finding the end zone on all three of their second-quarter drives.
