NEW ORLEANS— After his dominant performance at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic, the 2025 DII NCAA Outdoor 800 National Champion, Josue Le Cadre, collected his first USTFCCCA Men's NCAA DII National Athlete of the Week recognition. Le Cadre claimed the top spot in the 800m and clocked a 1:48.43 on Saturday, just 0.14 seconds off of his personal best and a new program record.
The Frenchman is the first Greyhound to receive USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week recognition since fellow French native Berenice Cleyet-Merle was named Division II Women's Athlete of the Week on Feb. 15, 2022.
From the USTFCCCA
"The 800 meters might just be stacked this year.
Josue Le Cadre added his name to the growing list of contenders, putting together a 1:48.43 effort to win the Hoosier Horsepower Classic this weekend. The time ranks No. 12 in NCAA DII history, placing him top-10 as an athlete. It also slots in at No. 5 on the current performance list when accounting for all divisions.
Le Cadre will have his work cut out for him come postseason, however, with former National Athlete of the Week, Klaus Scholz, just above him at 1:47.61. The Indianapolis junior does have one thing going for him: he split 1:46.79 during the spring."
