Le Cadre Captures D2 Record, Five Program Records Fall in Over the Weekend

AZUSA, Calif.— The University of Indianapolis sent seven individuals to compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays, while the rest of the squad stayed in the Hoosier State to compete in Indiana Wesleyan's 121st  Annual Indiana Little State Relays. 

BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
Junior Josue Le Cadre highlighted the weekend for the Hounds, breaking a 31-year-old 800m DII record, clocking a 1:43.72 at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday night with a second-place overall finish in a field of 37. Le Cadre also cruised to a new program record in the 1,500m, breaking the record set by Felix Rivet at the Oliver Nickoloff Invitational, with a time of 3:42.63.

Rivet opened up the weekend for the Hounds competing in the 3,000m steeplechase on Thursday night. The Junior crushed the program record he set a year ago by seven seconds and set a new personal record of 8:40.15, which places him at the top of Division II in the event. 

Francesca Maurino competed in both the high and triple jump on Friday, setting a new outdoor Greyhound record in the women's triple jump, finishing seventh at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a leap of 11.92m. The junior also finished fifth in the women's high jump invitational competition with a provisional mark of 1.74, placing her fifth in DII.

Yanis Le Mouillour also raced to a provisional mark in Azusa. The junior clocked a 1:48.73 in the men's 800m invite to finish 30th in the field of 118, moving him up to 15th in Division II in the event 

MT. SAC RELAYS
Alex Meyer was the lone Hound at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday to compete in the men's long jump invitational. In a competition full of professional and Division I jumpers, Meyer was able to secure fourth in the competition and was the highest-finishing collegiate athlete. The Junior shattered his previous program record of 7.78, which he set at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, with an opening jump of 7.88m in Walnut, Calif. 

121ST ANNUAL INDIANA LITTLE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Vivian Osagie threw another provisional toss in the women's shot put and claimed second place with a toss of 14.53m. The sophomore currently sits sixth on the national list with her season's best of 15.25. Osagie also finished second in the women's discus with a toss of 44.28m.

The Hounds once again dominated the women's pole vault competition, securing five top 10 spots, with Mackenzie VanBibber finishing on top, clearing 3.78m. Elise Krodel was the next-highest Hound, finishing fifth with her successful attempt of 3.53m. Ann Elise Sloan and Addison Windsor finished seventh and eighth, respectively, also clearing 3.53m. Zoe Arvantis rounded out the top ten, clearing 3.38m. 

Amanda Noel took first in both the women's discus and the women's javelin competition. The junior was also the highest finishing Hound in the women's hammer taking fourth, and finished in the top ten in all events she competed in for the second week in a row. 

Brailey Hoagland provided two top ten finishes, taking 10th in the women's 100m and second in the 200m. Amiah Rhodes also gave the Greyhounds a second-place finish, clocking a 58.87 in the women's 400m, while Cloey Somon finished third in the women's 400 hurdles with a time of 1:05.88.

Jalen Larkey and Curt Dahncke brought the Hounds two sixth-place finishes. Larkey finished sixth in the men's 400m, clocking 50.32 in the race, while Dahncke finished sixth in the 800m with a time of 1:56.24. 

William Kemper finished third in the men's shot put with a toss of 15.97m for a new personal record. The freshman also finished sixth in the men's hammer with a toss of 53.96m

Emma Gaston finished fourth in her first 10,000m race of this outdoor season, crossing the line at 40:44.11.

Riley Buroff finished third in the men's high jump, clearing 1.93m in the field of 23. Kevion Mitchell and Nicholas Monro finished sixth and eighth, respectively in the men's long jump
