HILLSDALE,Mich.— The University of Indianapolis track and field teams traveled to Hillsdale, Mich., and Louisville to compete in for the final time before the GLVC Championship meet at Southwest Baptist next weekend.
The weekend was highlighted by Vivian Osagie's record-breaking performance in the women's shot put. Osagie took first in the competition, with over a meter separating her from the rest of the field. The sophomore broke the Greyhound record, set by Andrea Horban in 2009, on her sixth attempt in the competition with a toss of 16.43m. She now sits atop the GLVC and ranks third nationally in the women's shot put.
Osagie also took first in the women's elite discus competition with another provisional toss of 49.76m. The Reggio Emelia, Italy native still sits fourth nationally with her mark of 52.44m at the Marian Knight Open. Amanda Noel and Macie Swinehart also finished in the top five in the women's elite discus competition finishing third and fourth respecitvely.
Noel also had a personal record in the javelin with a toss of 40.27m for a second-place finish.
Freshman Carmen Brown notched personal bests in the 200m and 400m, finishing ninth in the 400m with a time of 1:01.91.Marina Agapios finished fifth in the women's 800m, clocking a new personal best of 2:27.05. Kaelin Pfeifer also came away with a new personal best, taking ninth in the women's 1500m, clocking a 5:31.17. In the men's 1500m Florian Lecot finished first with a time of 4:03.58.
Kara Carney and Josie Harshbarger gave their squad top ten finishes in the women's 400m hurdles, taking seventh and eighth, respectively.
The men's and women's pole vault squads both claimed three top-ten finishes. The women's squad, led by Mackenzie VanBibber, cleared 3.73m for third place. Addison Windsor finished with a mark of 3.58 for sixth, in front of Maleah Bostock, who rounded out the top ten for the Hounds in ninth, clearing 3.43m. Keywuan Taylor was the top Hound on the men's side, finishing fourth, clearing 4.57m. Just behind Taylor Ethan Isles posted a mark of 4.42m to take fifth place. Frank Decker rounded out the top Hounds with a mark of 4.27 for eighth place.
William Kemper was UIndy's top finisher in the men's shot put, finishing third with a heave of 16.29m in front of Tyler Biddinger in fifth with a toss of 15.12m. Bryson Adams and Ben Booren rounded out the top Hounds, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively.
Booren and Kemper were the top finishers in the men's discus throw, with Booren taking first with his attempt of 44.95m and Kemper taking second with a toss of 44.56m.
The 4x400m squad of Lateef Mustafaa, Jalen Larkey, Ruley Buroff and Josue Le Cadre clocked a provisional time of 3:12.21 at the University of Louisville 2026 Jim Freeman / Clark Wood Open with a fifth-place finish against multiple Division I competitors.
