INDIANAPOLIS- No. 19 Saginaw Valley State outscored the host Greyhounds 17-0 in the second half to collect a 34-13 win in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday night at Key Stadium. The Cardinals had three rushers with more than 70 yards to earn the win in front of 4,432 fans.
SVSU (4-1, 3-1 GLIAC) struck first when Austin Borchard booted home a 27-yard field goal in SVSU's opening drive. The Cards made it 10-0 just before the end of the first quarter when Galen Stone hauled-in a 20-yard pass from wide receiver Justin Groeneveld.
Indianapolis (1-4, 0-4 GLIAC) finally got on the board midway through the second stanza.
Collin Coffer registered his fist interception of the season to put it in Cardinal territory for the UIndy offense.

Stephen Geller streaking down the near sideline and the senior marched it in for a 46-yard score. The extra-point attempt was blocked so SVSU clinged to a 10-6 lead.
SV answered on its next drive, when quarterback Charles Dowdell, an Indiana State-transfer, found paydirt from 5-yards out. But, the Greyhounds were up to the task of matching, driving 68 yards in 11 plays. After

Cole Willis for an easy touchdown, putting UIndy within four at halftime, 17-13.
The Cards kicked a field goal early in the second half and later made it a two-score lead when John Jacobs picked-off Doyle and ran it back 38 yards for a 27-13 SVSU margin. With 8:03 left, SVSU put it out of reach when Nick Gallina ran in from 26 yards to make it 34-13.
The potent Saginaw offense churned-out 300 yards of net rushing led by 91 yards on 18 carries from Xavier Walker. Speedy signal-caller Dowdell added 82 yards and Brandon Hayes tacked-on 74 more, each on 12 carries.
Doyle directed the UIndy offense, throwing for 171 yards and a score on 11-of-25 passing including one interception. Geller had four catches for a team-high 81 yards and
Ryan Forney caught five balls for 52 yards.
Mike Dum had 15 total stops, 10 solos and five assisted, to lead the Hound defense.
Craig Ray added 10 tackles and a sack.
UIndy will play four of its final six games on the road, beginning with a pair of games in Michigan the next two weeks. The Hounds head to Midland, Mich. for a battle with the Timberwolves of Northwood next Saturday at noon.
