ROLLA, Mo.- With a straight-set win over Missouri S&T Saturday afternoon, the 12th-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team picked up its 11th sweep of the 2009 season.  UIndy won by scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 27-25 to move to 17-1 on the year and a perfect 5-0 on the road.

UIndy's 5-0 run early in the first set the tone.  With the score tied at four, the Greyhounds ran off five unanswered to build a lasting cushion.  The Hounds led by no less than three the rest of the frame.

The Miners (6-14, 2-2 GLVC) led as late as 12-11 in the second, but the Greyhounds scored five of the next six points, including two kills from Kristina Hefferan.  Indianapolis hit an efficient .393 for the set to go on the the 25-20 win.

Contrary to the first two games, set number three provided some drama.  With the hosts up 19-17, an S&T attack error, a Kara McCarthy ace and a Kristina Kerrigan kill put the Hounds up by one and forced a Miner timeout.

The Hounds scored twice more after the stoppage to pull within three points of the sweep, but the Miners came right back to knot it at 22 apiece.  The opponents traded points to up the score to 25-25 before a two swings from freshman Kourtney Crawford ended the set and gave UIndy the win.

Crawford's final two kills brought her total to a personal-best eight on the night.  Fellow freshman Kristina Kerrigan led all players with 13 kills while compiling a .385 percentage and three total blocks.  Three Hounds finished with 13 digs, including junior Cheneta Morrison, who also added 33 assists.

Indianapolis (17-1, 3-1) returns home next week for a pair of conference tilts, starting with a meeting with GLVC-newcomer Illinois-Springfield Friday night.  Start time from the Ruth Lilly Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
