INDIANAPOLIS-  The Greyhound pitching staff squandered just one hit in a doubleheader sweep of Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday afternoon at Indiana Central Little League in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.  After Megan Russell threw a perfect game in an 8-0 five-inning win in the opener, Jennifer DeMotte allowed just a fourth-inning double in another 8-0 win in game two, also in five innings.

Russell's gem marked her second no-hitter of the season as she blanked Wheeling Jesuit in a 14-strikeout performance back on Mar. 8.  In that game, she had to go the distance, throwing all seven innings in a 1-0 win.  Saturday, Russell relied on her defense, striking-out five while inducing six flyouts and four groundouts.

DeMotte was just as impressive, going 3.1 innings before allowing the only KWC runner of the day, a one-out double by Leah Emerick.  DeMotte improved to 11-4 by striking-out six with five groundouts and four outs in the air.

Both pitchers had success at the plate, too, helping the Hounds to quick defeats.  DeMotte had three hits in game one, including a pair of doubles and two runs scored.  Russell was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI in the nightcap.

Jamie Keltz homered in both games, giving her six on the year and the team lead in round-trippers.  Carmen Martinez was 2-for-3 with two RBI in game two.

UIndy (24-11, 14-4 GLVC) will host Bellarmine Sunday at ICLL.  The games are the final home contests for the Greyhounds' two seniors, Russell and Martinez.  First pitch is slated for noon Sunday.

Notes:  Both teams wore pink ribbons in support of UIndy's "Think Pink" effort, events aimed at raising awareness for breast cancer ... Greyhound coaches Melissa Frost-Fisher, Sara Anderson and Kathy Blanchard all sported pink gear as well and wore pink high heels ... the coaches pledged to wear the heels upon donations surpassing the $250 mark ... UIndy pitchers have not allowed a run in their last 21.1 innings of work, dating back to the first game of the Urbana series (Apr. 8).
