HILLSDALE, Mich.--  A pair of big innings, one each game, propelled the UIndy softball team past host Hillsdale, 9-3 and 10-4 Tuesday afternoon.  The Greyhounds got a five-run sixth inning in the opener to blow the door open and scored seven in the fourth of game two to run away with the sweep.

Jamie Keltz homered twice on the night and scored six runs, reaching base safely in 7-of-10 plate appearances.  Megan Russell also homered twice, once in each game as the Greyhound lineup produced 20 baserunners in each contest.

A two-run double by Ashley Boxley broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning of game one.  After the home team got one back in the bottom of the inning, the Hounds posted five to take a 7-1 lead, the final runs coming on a two-run blast by Russell.  The Greyhounds tacked-on a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to make a winner of Russell, who threw six innings with five hits and one run with four strikeouts.

UIndy (29-12, 17-5 Great Lakes Valley Conference) had to come from behind in the second game.  Trailing 3-1 in the fourth, the Hounds sent 11 batters to the plate.  Nine straight Greyhounds reached base with eight hits and a walk in the inning.  Two-run singles by Kelsey Rummel and Jennifer DeMotte preceeded Russell's second homer of the day.

Keltz's two dingers came in her next two at bats, hitting solo shots in the fifth and seventh innings, plenty of runs for DeMotte, who earned the win with a complete game effort with four runs on eight hits and six strikeouts.  Every UIndy batter recorded at least a hit or a run in the nightcap.

UIndy  will remain on the road this weekend with visits to Saint  Joseph's and Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
