RENSSELAER, Ind.-
The UIndy softball team earned its 19th and 20th GLVC wins Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader at St. Joseph's. The Greyhounds (32-13, 20-6) won 5-2 and 7-1 over the host Pumas.

GAME 1
The Pumas plated the first run of the game, jumping out to an early 1-0 lead after one inning. UIndy answered back with a lone tally of its own in the top of the second, with Chrissy Stephens taking the run on a steal of home after walking to lead off the inning.

The score stayed knotted at 1-1 until the top of the fourth, when a two-RBI single from Jamie Keltz scored Brooke Johnson and Stephens to put UIndy ahead, 3-1. The Greyhounds matched their fourth-inning output in the fifth, with Megan Russell and Ashley Boxley starting off the frame with a pair of doubles. Boxley would then score also, on a single from Stephens.

SJC put up one more run in the fifth inning, but the Greyhounds would hold on for the 5-2 win. Russell (17-7) earned the win, striking out five in the complete-game effort. The senior was also 3-for-4 at the plate, along with Boxley.

GAME 2
UIndy used offense from up and down its line up to take a 7-1 win in the nightcap. Six of the nine Greyhound batters had a hit in the contest.

Keltz opened the game with a bang, homering to put UIndy up 1-0 with one swing of the bat. Russell reached on a Puma error, and was brought around to score on Boxley's second double of the day for the 2-0 UIndy lead.

The Greyhounds doubled their lead in the fourth, with Jennifer DeMotte singling in a run, and a third Boxley double bringing in another. A pair more found their way across for UIndy in the fifth, with Carmen Martinez and Audry Ernst coming in to score on a Kelsey Rummel double.

UIndy pushed its tally to seven on an unearned run in the seventh, with Ernst scoring on an error by the SJC firstbaseman.

The Pumas plated their lone run in the fourth inning, pushing the score across on three hits.

DeMotte (14-5) earned the win in the circle for UIndy, striking out eight and walking none in her seven innings of work. Boxley and Rummel each had a pair of hits and a pair of RBIs in the win.

UIndy will close out the regular season with a rescheduled home doubleheader against Quincy next Sunday, May 2. First pitch from the Indiana Central Little League is slated for 12:00 p.m.
