GAME 1

After a walk and a hit batter, Stephanie Harmon doubled to drive in two and stake her team to a 2-0 lead. The lead would hold up as the Hounds mustered just five hits in the first game and the visitors took a 4-0 win in the opener.
Megan Russell suffered the loss, throwing seven innings of six-hit ball, allowing two earned runs with seven strikeouts.
Ashley Boxley and
Chrissy Stephens each had two hits to lead the Greyhound offense.
GAME 2

Brooke Johnson doubled home Stephens for the first run and later came around on an error. The next inning, UIndy would blow the game open, plating five in the third inning.
The frame started with three straight singles by
Jamie Keltz, Russell and Boxley. Stephens ripped a double, her fourth hit of the day, to score another.
Carmen Martinez reached on an error to put runners at the corners and Stephens cashed-in a run by stealing home after Martinez broke for second. Johnson collected another RBI hit and the Hounds got their fifth run all before a single out was recorded.
The lead would remain 7-0 until the sixth when LU scratched out a run in the top of the frame, but UIndy put the win in the books in the bottom half.
Jennifer DeMotte singled to start the inning and an error and a walk set the stage for Martinez's game-winning hit. With the bases loaded and one down, Martinez ripped a double to left center to score two and give UIndy a 9-1 win to split the series.
Each of the top seven batters in the Indianapolis lineup had at least one hit in the second game, combining for 11 hits. Russell, Stephens and Martinez each rapped-out two hits. Stephens reached base in six of her seven plate appearances (four hits, two walks).
DeMotte earned the win in the circle, upping her record to 9-4 on the season. She threw six innings, squandering five hits and no earned runs to lower her season ERA to 1.44.
The Greyhounds, currently ranked sixth in the first installment of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional rankings, will continue their eight-game homestand when they host Urbana Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
