Head Coach Melissa Frost-Fisher earned her 250th career win and Ashley Boxley hit her second homer of the season Thursday.

UIndy 6, Urbana 1
UIndy 4, Urbana 0

INDIANAPOLIS-  The Greyhound softball team helped sixth-year head coach Melissa Frost-Fisher etch another milestone in a non-conference doubleheader sweep over Urbana at Indiana Central Little League Thursday afternoon.  UIndy posted a 6-1 win in the opener to give Frost-Fisher her 250th career win and also took the nightcap, 4-0, to improve to 22-11 overall.

GAME ONE
Indianapolis (22-11) got out of the chute right away, plating three in the bottom of the first inning.  After Jennifer DeMotte walked to lead things off, Jamie Keltz collected the first of her three hits in the game with a well-placed bunt single.  Carmen Martinez had the big hit in the frame, doubling to left field to score a pair.

UIndy added another run in the second when Keltz doubled to score Kelsey Rummel from first.  Keltz would add a two-run homer in to left-center in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.  Urbana's (8-15) lone run came in the third inning and the Blue Knights threatened in the sixth but Audrey Ernst got the final two outs with two runners on to protect a 4-1 lead.  After Keltz's homer, Ernst allowed just a single in the seventh to earn her first collegiate save.

Keltz finished the game just a triple shy of the cycle with two runs scored and three driven-in.   Martinez and Rummel each collected a pair of hits in game one to help make a winner of Megan Russell, who improved to 11-6, allowing a run on five hits with seven Ks in 5.1 innings.

GAME TWO
UIndy got all four of its runs in the fourth inning to break a scoreless tie.  Russell singled through the left side to open the stanza and Ashley Boxley blasted her second homer of the season deep over the centerfield wall for a quick 2-0 lead.  Two more singles and a walk loaded the bases and Rummel cashed in the third run with a walk before the fourth came around on an error.

DeMotte won her 10th game of the season, pitching five innings of three-hit softball with five strikeouts.  Kaitlyn Bolanowski threw the final two innings, squandering just one hit and lowering her season earned run average to 1.20 in her three appearances.

The Hounds managed just five hits in the nightcap, but Urbana chipped-in with five errors as the home team garnered the sweep.

Indianapolis will return to league play Saturday, hosting Kentucky Wesleyan for a noon doubleheader.  First pitch is slated for noon with breast cancer awareness activities scheduled for pregame.  The  festivities will begin with a "Breast Cancer Walk" at 11:00 a.m. in the circle drive of Ruth Lilly.  The one mile course will conclude at Indiana Central Little League with a cookout to follow.  Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will be given to Susan G. Komen Foundation of Indianapolis.  A "Homerun Derby" will take place in between games along with a raffle and prizes.
