LIBERTY, Mo.- A hat trick from
Casey Castle led UIndy men's soccer to a 3-1 win at William Jewell. The win clinches a GLVC Men's Soccer Championship tournament berth for the Greyhounds for the second season in a row.
The host Cardinals struck first, scoring with just less than eight minutes to play in the first half. Forrest McCurren scored for William Jewell, putting a bouncing ball from Trevor Pentola past a pulled-out

A pair of goals from
Casey Castle within two minutes of each other to start the second half put the Greyhounds up 2-1. Castle tallied the first score on a ball from
Micah Uemura in the 47th minute to tie the match 1-1. He then put UIndy ahead with a rocket free kick from 20 yards out in the right corner a minute and a half later.
Verhonik kept the Greyhounds ahead with a save of a Cardinal penalty kick with about 10 minutes to play.
Castle added the final UIndy goal with about seven minutes to play, sending in another long free kick from the far side.
Verhonik made five saves in goal for the Greyhounds in 90 minutes of work. In all, UIndy out-shot the Cardinals 17-13 on the day.
The Greyhounds close out the regular season Wednesday, hosting Saint Joseph's. UIndy will be raising breast cancer awareness by wearing pink jerseys for the match, and will be taking donations at the match to benefit a person close to the program affected by the disease.
