TURLOCK, Cali.- The UIndy men's track and field squad closed out the 2011 outdoor season with six All-American performances at the NCAA Divison II Outdoor Track & Field Championships during the weekend.
Matt Royer was the first All-American for the Greyhounds, finishing sixth in the men's hammer throw Thursday with a toss of 60.84 meters.
Blaze Hurley earned his All-American finish in the men's pole vault, with a mark of 5.03 meters. Hurley's leap was good for fourth at the meet, and was a personal best, as well as a new school record in the event.
The men's 4x400-meter relay closed out the season for the Greyhounds with a fourth-place finish in its race. The team of

Jerel Flournoy and
Jermel Kindred posted a time of 3:11.88 to repeat their All-American honors from the indoor season in the event.
As a team, the UIndy men finished tied for 24th with 12.50 total points. Abeline Christian took the men's title at the event with 68.00 points. Grand Valley State won the women's title with 82.50 points.
