IWU INVITATIONAL RESULTS
BLOOMINGTON, Ind./MARION, Ind.-The Greyhound track and field teams put up six more NCAA marks on the weekend at Indiana and Indiana Wesleyan.
UIndy had five more NCAA provisional marks on the season at the Hoosier Hills Invitational Friday evening.
Robert Gardner, Jerel Flournoy and Jermel Kindred all put up provisional marks in the 400-meter dash. Gardner's time of 47.50 topped the field in the event, with Flournoy taking third with a time of 48.37. Kindred was not far behind with a time of 48.38.
The trio, along with Kyle Scwartz, also posted a provisional time of 3:13.31 in the 4x400m relay, winning the event.
The Greyhound women's version of the same event also tallied a provisional mark. The women's squad of Angelique McNeal, Jordan VanDyke, LaTisha Martin and Haley Miller recorded a time of 3:54.17 for their provisional time.
At Indiana Wesleyan, Schwartz took top billing in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.22. Jacob Aldrich also won the men's pole vault for the Greyhounds, with a leap of 4.55 meters.
Ryan Smith put up an NCAA provisional mark in the shot put at IWU, taking second in the event with a toss of 16.35 meters.
The Greyhound women's team got a top finish in the 60-meter hurdles, with Camille Edwards winning the event with a time of 9.07.
A trio of UIndy women were one, two and three in the women's shot put, with Carlynn Carter winning the event with a throw of 13.17 meters. Katy Watson followed with a toss of 12.69 meters, with Farin Hickman taking third with a throw of 12.65 meters.
The final tuneup prior to the 2012 GLVC Indoor Track and Field Championships for UIndy is next weekend, with the team traveling up I-65 for Purdue's Boilermaker Invitational.
