UIndy grounds Screaming Eagles in 2-0 win at USI

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- A pair of second half goals pushed UIndy men's soccer to a 2-0 win at Southern Indiana in Great Lakes Valley Conference play Friday night.

Sophomore JT Hiquet broke a scoreless tie early in the second half, putting UIndy (5-2-2; 4-1-2 GLVC) ahead of host USI (2-6-1; 1-6-0 GLVC) 1-0 at the 49:56 mark, with Zak Mitiche assisting on the play.

A header from Kevin Eggert pushed the score to 2-0 in the 65th minute, with Julian Shamsaie providing the helper. The score was good for Eggert's fourth of the season.

Four shots from Ngwese Ebangwese paced the UIndy offense, while Hiquet added three to the 11 total put out by the Greyhounds. Andrew Verhonik preserved the clean sheet in goal for UIndy, making four saves on the night.

The Hounds face another GLVC road test this weekend, heading to Illinois Springfield for a Sunday afternoon match with the Prairie Stars at 3:30 EST.
