ABOUT TRUMAN
The Bulldogs, who are one game back of the Greyhounds in the GLVC standings, enter the regular season's final week with a solid 7-3 mark.

Sophomore running back Garrett White is closing in on the school's first 1000-yard season in a decade.  He enters this week's game with 897 rushing yards on 6.3 yards per carry. White leads the team with nine rushing touchdowns and one receiving score.

The Bulldogs also feature one of the top special teams units in Division II.  They are second in net punting (39.8 yards per punt), third in punt return defense (1.0 yards per return) and ninth in kickoff returns (25.4 ypr).

Junior Jacob Lamp averages 41.9 yards per punt, senior Derek Koon has made 49 career field goals and returners Aaron Hartfield and Tremaine Millender average over 30 yards per kick return.

GREYHOUNDS vs. BULLDOGS
Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between UIndy and Truman.  The Bulldogs are closing out their first year in the GLVC after playing 20 seasons in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).

SO MANY POSSIBILITIES
The Hounds are looking to secure their second outright GLVC championship in as many seasons.  A win versus Truman would accomplish that feat, while a loss would mean a shared title between the Bulldogs and the Greyhounds.

A win for the home team would also give UIndy 10 victories on the season, setting a new program mark for wins in the regular season.

In addition, UIndy hopes to up its winning streak to eight, which would match the program's third-longest such streak.  Below is a concise list of lengthy winning streaks by the Hounds.

STREAK DATES
12 Sept. 20, 1953 - Oct. 9, 1954
10 Sept. 15, 2012 - Nov. 17, 2012
8 Oct. 4, 1986 - Sept. 19, 1987
8 Oct. 17, 1998 - Sept. 18, 1999
7 Sept. 8, 1973 - Oct. 20, 1973
7 Sept. 28, 2013 -

A victory would also all but lock up a second consecutive playoff berth for the Hounds.

And one more thing... A Greyhound win would up the team's all-time record winning percentage to .500 (354-354-22), marking the first time since October of 1991 that the program had as many wins as losses.

LAST TIME OUT
Behind Klay Fiechter's 123 rushing yards and two scores, the Greyhounds handed visiting Quincy a 33-7 defeat last weekend.  The Hounds held a slim 9-7 lead at the break but scored 24 unanswered points after in the second half to put the Hawks away.

Fiechter set the program's carer records for both rushing yards (more on that on page 2) and total touchdowns in the win, while Todd Hacker led the Greyhound defense with 10 tackles, a safety and a 32-yard interception return.

WHAT A RUSH
Redshirt-sophomore Matt Ripp capped the scoring last week with a 89-yard rushing touchdown.  Not normally known as a speedster, Ripp's marathon rush goes down as the third-longest in UIndy history; Dick Nyers recorded a 90-yard rush back in 1954 before Gary Isza matched it in '96.

WHAT A CAREER
Klay Fiechter's relentless march towards the school's all-time rushing record finally ended last week.  After 45 games and nearly 700 carries for the Crimson and Grey, the Bluffton, Ind., product enters his final regular-season game at UIndy with 3,679 career rushing yards, most all-time at the program.  Nationally, that number is good for seventh among all active Division II players; below is the top 10.

REGIONAL CONCERNS
For the second week in a row, UIndy moved up a spot in the NCAA Division II Super Region Four rankings. The Greyhounds sit at No. 4 this week and are on pace for their second straight playoff berth as just six teams from the nation's four regions will advance to the 24-team NCAA D-II Championships next month.

Grand Valley State (5) and Tarlton State (6) also moved up, thanks in part to Midwestern State's 40-21 loss to Eastern New Mexico last week.  Consequently, MSU dropped from fourth to ninth in the rankings and will now need a lot of help to get back into the playoff picture.

The annual tournament will begin on campus sites Nov. 23.  The opening round will feature the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds hosting games versus the sixth- and fifth-seeded squads, respectively, while the top two teams will receive byes.  The bracket plays out on consecutive Saturdays until a champion is crowned Dec. 21.

The 2013 field will be announced on the NCAA Division II Football Selection Show on NCAA.com Sunday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.

POLL POSITION
UIndy set a new program high by earning the No. 11 spot in this week's American Football Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll.  The team's previous high position was No. 12, set in week two of this season.

The AFCA release marked the 14th consecutive appearance for UIndy in the national poll dating back to last season, also good for a school record.

HOMELAND SECURITY
The Greyhounds have won each of their last 11 games at Key Stadium, including all six home games in 2012.  They are a combined 16-1 at Key over the last three seasons, with their only loss coming to eventual national-runner-up Wayne State in the 2011 home finale.
