ABOUT QUINCY
The Hawks come into today's contest with one GLVC win in five tries this season; their lone conference victory came three weeks ago in a 80-26 drumming of Kentucky Wesleyan.  Quincy set numerous team records that day, including most points (80), total yards (707), and touchdowns (11), while rushing for an impressive 437 yards.

Sophomore QB Nick Lonergan paces the GLVC in passing yards per game (245.4).  His No. 1 target, 6-2 senior Justin Dickens, has racked up 963 receiving yards through nine games, nearly 200 more than the GLVC's next highest total.  Dickens is QU's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns,

Keeping Lonergan off the turf has not been so easy for the Hawks, however.  They've given up about four sacks per game this season, second-most in the GLVC.

GREYHOUNDS vs. HAWKS
Last year's game in Quincy, Ill., marked the first meeting between the Greyhounds and the Hawks.  In the first-ever GLVC contest for either team, UIndy  produced nearly 400 total yards of offense on the way to the 35-7 win.  Three of its five touchdowns came from at least 50 yards out.

Klay Fiechter finished with a whopping 268 all-purpose yards, including a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown -- UIndy's longest since 1998.  Defensive back Koby Orris chipped in a 56-yard fumble return for a TD, Mar'Quone Edmonds had a 53-yard TD catch, and Josh Bass blocked a third-quarter field goal attempt.

LAST TIME OUT
In the weekend's marquee GLVC match-up, the Greyhounds picked up a big road win with a 27-24 decision at Saint Joseph's last Saturday.  The Pumas entered the day just one game back of the first-place Hounds in the league standings, but UIndy's 3rd-down success rate (8-for-16) and lack of turnovers proved too much for SJC to overcome.

Fiechter racked-up 144 rushing yards, while he, Kevin Teglia and Logan Young all found the end zone.  Safeties Orris and John Strickland each recorded an interception, and Scott Miller was 2-for-2 in field goal attempts.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
The UIndy athletics department is proud to welcome back the members of the 1953 Greyhound football team -- the school's only undefeated gridiron squad.  Then called Indiana Central College, the team defeated all eight comers that season on the way to a Hoosier College Conference championship.  The group will be recognized at halftime of the Quincy game.

KLAY'S DAY
Saturday, November 9 is shaping up to be a big day for Klay Fiechter.  Already the owner of numerous school records, the senior running back could surpass two of the most prestigious and longest-standing marks in the UIndy football annals.  Fiechter enters play a mere four yards from the program's all-time rushing mark of 3559, held by Dick Nalley (1973-76).  Also, a single touchdown of any sort will give Fiechter outright ownership of UIndy's career TD record he currently shares with Dick Nyers (1952-55).

Both Nalley and Nyers are members of the UIndy Athletics Hall of Fame, while Nalley was a 2006 inductee into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

REGIONAL CONCERNS
UIndy moved up one spot to No. 5 in this week's NCAA Division II Super Region Four rankings. The Greyhounds are on pace for their second straight playoff berth, as just six teams from the nation's four regions will advance to the 24-team NCAA D-II Championships next month.

Undefeated teams Colorado State-Pueblo and Ohio Dominican stayed at one and two, respectively, while Saginaw Valley State, Midwestern State and UIndy rounded out the top five.  Meanwhile, West Texas A&M was bumped from fifth to ninth after a 39-38 home loss to Eastern New Mexico.  Grand Valley State moved into the No. 6 spot.

A total of 40 teams make up Division II's fourth "super region," as members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC), the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) comprise the lot.

PICTURE PERFECT
With just two league games left to play, the GLVC championship picture is coming into focus.  Only UIndy and Truman remain unbeaten heading into week 10, setting up a potential winner-take-all meeting between the Greyhounds and Bulldogs at Key Stadium Nov. 16.  UIndy will need to get past Quincy Saturday, while Truman hosts a dangerous Saint Joseph's team this afternoon.

A UIndy win and a Truman loss Saturday would clinch at least a share of the GLVC title for the Hounds.  UIndy is the defending conference champ and is a perfect 13-0 in league play since the GLVC started football last season.

3rd & 13
Both sides of the ball have fared well on 3rd down for UIndy, as the Greyhounds rank 13th in the nation in both 3rd-down conversion percentage (.475) and 3rd-down conversion percentage defense (.298).

POLL POSITION
UIndy vaulted up five spots to No. 13 in this week's American Football Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll.  The release marked the 13th consecutive appearance for UIndy in the national poll dating back to last season.  The Hounds' No. 13 position is one spot shy of matching the program's highest-ever AFCA ranking -- 12th in week two of this season.

HOMELAND SECURITY
The Greyhounds have won each of their last 10 games at Key Stadium, including all six home games in 2012.  They are a combined 15-1 at Key over the last three  seasons, with their only loss coming to eventual national-runner-up Wayne State in the 2011 home finale.
