HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – For the second straight day, the No. 7 UIndy softball team (2-2) earned a spit at the UAH Charger Chillout.  The Greyhounds fell 6-1 to ninth-ranked Alabama-Huntsville before bouncing back with an 8-0 shutout of in-region Northwood.

vs. ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE
In the marquee game of the Chillout, the host Chargers (5-0) got the best of UIndy in a match-up of top-10 opponents.  UAH pitcher Emily Glover received more than enough run support after hanging zeros in each of the first six innings.

The Greyhounds finally pushed a run across in the seventh on an RBI groundout by sophomore Jenny Thompson.

Junior Casey Williamson had two of the Hounds' four hits, as she and senior Alexa Alfaro notched one double apiece.

Sophomore pitcher Morgan Foley racked up 10 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work but gave up six runs (four earned) to fall to 0-2 on the season.  Sophomore Coryn Tipak finished the game in the circle, retiring the only two batters she faced in her first appearance in this season.

vs. NORTHWOOD
The bats came alive versus the Timberwolves (2-2) as the Greyhounds compiled nine hits and eight runs in the six-inning win.  UIndy sent 11 hitters to the plate in the six-run fifth, highlighed by two-baggers from Taylor Russell and Cori Eckerle.

Williamson capped her day with a triple in her final at bat, finishing with two hits and a walk in the game.  Senior Krysta Bradford reached base safely all three times, amassing two walks, a single, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Senior Morgan Lewis pitched her second shutout in as many days, striking out 11 in the process.  With the bases loaded and one out in the sixth, she kept her shutout in tact by fanning the final two batters.

The Chillout concludes tomorrow when the Hounds take on Saint Edward's and West Alabama at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET, respectively.  St. Edward's received votes in the NFCA D-II preseason poll.
