WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – With a pair of shutouts Thursday, the UIndy softball team (7-5) had a perfect day at the Rebel Spring Games, besting Minnesota State-Mankato, 1-0, in eight innings before skunking Northern State, 9-0, in five.

vs. Minnesota State
The Greyhounds received a stellar performance from pitcher Morgan Foley.  The sophomore pitched eight innings of shut-out ball, striking out 11 and walking only three.  A fourth-inning double was the only hit she allowed, good for her sixth game in 38 career starts allowing one hit or less.

Offensively, freshman Tayler Weck was the hero, as her single in the top of the eighth plated senior Alexa Alfaro with what proved to be the game winner.

Weck, sophomore Erika Goodwin, junior Casey Williamson and junior Sydney Russell each had two base hits apiece.

vs. Northern State
Already up 3-0, the Greyhounds broke open Thursday's second game with six runs in the third inning.  UIndy sent 11 batters to the plate in the frame, as Alfaro notched an HBP and a ground-rule double in the same inning.

Williamson again had two hits, both of which were two-run singles.

Senior Morgan Lewis got the win in the circle, blanking the Wolves or five innings.  She fanned six while walking just one.
