WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – With a pair of shutouts Thursday, the UIndy softball team (7-5) had a perfect day at the Rebel Spring Games, besting Minnesota State-Mankato, 1-0, in eight innings before skunking Northern State, 9-0, in five.

vs. Minnesota State
The Greyhounds received a stellar performance from pitcher
Morgan Foley. The sophomore pitched eight innings of shut-out ball, striking out 11 and walking only three. A fourth-inning double was the only hit she allowed, good for her sixth game in 38 career starts allowing one hit or less.
Â
Offensively, freshman
Tayler Weck was the hero, as her single in the top of the eighth plated senior
Alexa Alfaro with what proved to be the game winner.
Â
Weck, sophomore
Erika Goodwin, junior
Casey Williamson and junior
Sydney Russell each had two base hits apiece.
Â
vs. Northern State
Already up 3-0, the Greyhounds broke open Thursday's second game with six runs in the third inning. UIndy sent 11 batters to the plate in the frame, as Alfaro notched an HBP and a ground-rule double in the same inning.
Â
Williamson again had two hits, both of which were two-run singles.
Â
Senior
Morgan Lewis got the win in the circle, blanking the Wolves or five innings. She fanned six while walking just one.
