INDIANAPOLIS – Sophomore Morgan Foley struck out her 600th career batter, while junior Casey Williamson collected career hit No. 200 in the UIndy softball team's doubleheader sweep of visiting Saint Joseph's Tuesday afternoon.  The No. 24 Greyhounds (36-8, 25-3 GLVC) handed the in-state Pumas losses of 11-3 and 4-2 to reach 25 conference wins for the third straight season.

GAME 1
Foley hit the 600 mark in the second inning of the opener, becoming just the third pitcher in program history to reach the milestone.  She cruised through four innings to get the win, striking out seven while allowing two earned runs.  Fellow-sophomore Coryn Tirpak finished the job by getting the final six outs to seal the six-inning victory.

Down 1-0 before stepping to the plate, the Greyhound offense answered with a four-spot in the bottom half of the first.  Williamson fueled the early scoring with an RBI double in both the first and second innings.  The latter hit was No. 200 for the Indianapolis native, while a later knock moved her into sole possession of third on UIndy's all-time list.

Williamson represented one-quarter of the Greyhounds' one-through-four hitters that combined to go 10-for-14 at the plate, with nine runs and seven RBIs.  Erika Goodwin, Katie Kelly and Taylor Russell all scored twice, while Kelly had three hits and Russell drove in four.

GAME 2
With their best pitcher in the circle, the Pumas (14-26, 11-19) managed to hang around in game two, eventually stranding the potential tying run at second in the seventh and final frame.  But Foley, who also got the ball in game two, out-pitched SJC's Megan Schwartzengraber to secure the sweep.  Both pitchers went the distance, with Foley (27-4) fanning 10 and allowing one earned run, all while pitching around a career-high seven walks.

UIndy's third inning proved to be the difference as the Hounds took advantage of two Pumas errors to plate three runs.  Russell, Alexa Alfaro and Jenny Thompson strung together consecutive RBI singles in the frame.  Alfaro also drove in a run with a single in the fifth, while Kelly finished with three more hits to finish 6-for-7 on the day.

The Hounds will remain home this weekend as they host Bellarmine and Southern Indiana Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
